Jannettas Gelateria, which has been operating from its original St Andrews site since 1908, will take part in a four-way discussion with Christopher Trotter (pictured), who is also a successful Chef, Fife Food Ambassador and Committee member of the Guild of Food Writers. They will debate the tasty subject of food in Fife, their business and their future.
Two other local businesses, Puddledub Pork and Very Lovely Sauce Company will take part, with members of the public invited to pose questions from the floor.
Jannettas Gelateria will take part in the afternoon session of the event, which will take place in The Byre Theatre at 3pm on Sunday 29 November 2015.
A session will also be held at 11am, with Peat Inn, The Old Cheese Shop and Pillars of Hercules Organic Farm participating.

Christopher Trotter, who will lead the discussion, said, “I have known Jannettas since I was a child – THE ice cream shop in town and part of the fabric of St Andrews. I have also known Owen for many years so, when I was asked to organise this ‘conversation’, it was obvious to me that a business being run by the fourth generation has seen many changes in St Andrews and I felt that Owen’s perspective on food and produce in Fife would make a great contribution to the event. I have chosen a varied group of people each of whom can bring a different perspective to the table and provide a fascinating insight into Food in Fife.”
Owen Hazel said, “I am absolutely delighted to have been approached by such an esteemed figure in the world of food, as well as a true authority on Fife food, and am very much looking forward to taking part in what should be a lively and exciting discussion.”
