The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St Andrews has been honoured by Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards.
It has been named as #10 in the Best Resorts in Europe – breaking the top 10 for the first time – and is poised for a “great year end” with this prestigious recognition.
Director of operations David Scott expressed delight over the news, and said that the Conde Nast Readers’ Choice Award is an internationally recognised accolade.
“In the last two years, we have been just outside Europe’s top 10, and we were 15th last year.
“I am thrilled that customers have fed back in this way – resulting in us making the top 10 for the first time.”
The award is judged on rooms, service, location, dining, design and activities, and in 2014, ‘value’ was added to the criteria.
The Conde Nast achievement comes on the back of another accolade this autumn – the gold standard in the Investors In People Awards.
The resort is counting down to Christmas with a packed calendar of activities for guests and visitors to St Andrews.
“The awards are testament to all the hard work from every member of our team and the events we have planned between now and the year end will further demonstrate our commitment to customer service,” said David.
On St Andrews Day itself (Sun 30th Nov), the hotel opens its doors to the local community for a Christmas Emporium including a food and craft market and free cookery demonstrations. The resort offers Tea & Whisky Tasting events, Thanksgiving Suppers, Graduation Dinners, Cocktail Master-classes and Christmas Parties, and will welcome more people than ever during this special time of year.
