Since moving to St. Andrews from America, I’ve always was intrigued by the marriage of cultures that come under one nation. Yet, at times, culture is lost or loses part of its integrity. St. Andrews has given me a great exposure to the Scottish culture that I was never exposed to. With these sunshine days the streets are packed with bagpipers, young men in kilts and nights filled with ceilidh dances and traditional, foot-tapping music. Forgan’s has become one of my go-to spots on a relaxed weekend with friends. Start off with some dinner, a glass or two of wine on the beach and then an evening of dancing (and learning!) at Forgan’s ceilidh nights. It has become the place to be for tourists and locals and accompanied by live music, you can never go wrong. You are truly exported to such a beautiful experience, it’s worth it.
Ceilidhs at Forgans are Friday and Saturdays from 10pm or join them for any of their other events with information here.
