St Andrew’s Day, Street Ceilidh

St Andrew's Day celebrations 2014At this year’s St Andrews Day celebrations,  the world’s largest street Ceilidh is back by popular demand hosted by comedian, Susan Morrison.

The inclusivity of the Ceilidh ensures that everyone can take part.  So no matter if you’re  young or old, an experienced dancer or a beginner or have never danced before – this is definitely for you!

In keeping with old traditions, there will be lots of dancing, laughing and fun taking place at the Westport end of South Street.

The Ceilidh will run from 6 – 7 pm on the 2nd of December and will be followed by a lantern procession to the Harbour which will culminate in a theatrical re-enactment of the fable of Regulus bringing St Andrews Bones to the shores of what would become the town of St Andrews that we all know and love. This re-enactment will be followed by a magnificent fireworks display from the harbour wall.

No experience is necessary, so come along with your family and friends for an evening of culture and tradition that you will never forget.
