The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is one of the world’s leading golf events. A truly international championship, it is a magnet for golfers from every corner of the world and is one of the most prestigious tournaments on the European Tour.
A celebration of links golf, which many believe is the purest form of the game, the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship 2017 will be played over three magnificent links courses – the Old Course (St Andrews), the Championship Course, Carnoustie (near Dundee) and Kingsbarns (just south of St Andrews).
Professional golfers play alongside celebrity amateur golfers, with famous names such as Michael Phelps, Hugh Grant, Michael Douglas, Samuel L Jackson, Sir Bobby Charlton and Boris Becker taking to the fairways – which well known faces will grace the Old Course this year?
An annual favourite with both locals and visitors to St Andrews, entrance to the championship is free on the first three days.
St Andrews during championship week is a very special place. The dazzling fireworks display held before the Gala Dinner on the Saturday is a real highlight and always attracts a large crowd.
The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship 2017 will take place from October 5th to 8th.
