Puffin Billy is set to make a triumphant return to Craigtoun Country Park this weekend.
The new tractor-drawn road train has been refurbished ready for the park’s grand open weekend which takes place on June 29th and 30th.
Friends of Craigtoun, the group who operate the park’s attractions, were given a vintage tractor on permanent loan for the Puffin Billy project.
The tractor was professionally restored and refurbished. The volunteers then found two road train carriages in North Wales which they stripped and restored.
Puffin Billy was tested out recently by a group of pupils from Ceres Primary School who all seemed to thoroughly enjoy their ride around the park!
Painted in a bright red, Puffin Billy matches the park’s famous miniature railway.
Both trains will be popular features at the family fun weekend where all of the attractions will be open (weather permitting) and there will be acts on the new refurbished band stand, face painting, a tombola, raffle and motorcycle displays plus the Police, Fire and Lifeboat crews. It’s set to be a great weekend for the whole family.
Car parking and admission to the park is free – there is a charge for using the attractions.
