The Eden Estuary, just to the north, is the third-oldest nature reserve in the country, with its marine and bird life attracting “twitchers” from across the country. A few miles further on lies Tentsmuir Forest: seals, porpoises and dolphins regularly bask on the sandbanks here, whilst deer, osprey and peregrines are frequently sighted in the woods and lochs just inland.
