Culture & Arts

You probably know that St Andrews is renowned as a place of learning,  history and of course golf – but did you know that it’s also a flourishing centre for culture and the arts?

In fact, so much so that St Andrews was awarded the 2012 Creative Place Award  – Scotland’s highest arts accolade – in recognition of its remarkable array of festivals, cultural events, and community participation.

Throughout the year, the town welcomes artistes of the highest calibre – musicians, dancers, actors and entertainers – to perform to enthusiastic audiences in a range of atmospheric venues.

Artists and craftspeople have drawn inspiration from St Andrews for centuries, and their work is on display – and for sale – in galleries across the town.
